Man dumps deceased girlfriend in pit toilet

Authorities of Osun State Police command have launched investigation into the circumstances, leading to the dumping of the corpse of a 19-year-old girl by her boyfriend in a pit toilet in Osogbo, Osun State.

Nigerian Tribune gathered that detectives from State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) have already exhumed the remains of the girl, who was identified as Bilikisu, from the pit toilet at Abaja Compound, Balogun Area of Osogbo.

Credible source informed Nigerian Tribune that a middle-aged man, simply identified as Soji, who was Bilikisu’s boyfriend for over two years, dumped her corpse in the pit toilet.


Unconfirmed reports indicated that Soji, who is now at large, allegedly removed Bilikisu’s breasts, before dumping her remains in the pit toilet.
Some residents of the area informed Nigerian Tribune that they knew Bilikisu as Soji’s girlfriend and that the duo usually engaged in incessant fights and parted ways at a time.

According to one of the residents, who pleaded anonymity,

“Soji and Bilikisu eventually resolved their last misunderstanding and Bilikusu returned to Soji’s house. Few days after she returned to the house, she got missing.
“Bilikisu’s parents, while searching for their missing daughter, visited Soji’s house and discovered that the man had absconded. They reported the matter to the police immediately and a search party raised eventually discovered that Bilikisu was dead and that she had been dumped in the pit toilet. The police detectives from Criminal Investigation Department opened up the concrete slab on the pit and exhumed the remains of Bilikisu.

As of the time of filing this report, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) for Osun State police command, Folashade Odoro, could not be reached for comments, but a police source confirmed that the matter was already under investigation, adding that detectives were on the trail of Soji.
